Macrophages play a key role in the functioning of the immune system, but their influence goes far beyond the regulation of the immune response. In our publication, we discuss their multifaceted functions in the body – from supporting homeostasis, through participation in tissue regeneration, to their involvement in the development of many diseases, including cancer.
